Job summary

The East Hanover Township Police Department is seeking a full-time Police Dispatcher to ensure rapid and accurate transmission of information from distressed callers to responding emergency services. You will provide essential information to officers, firefighters, EMTs and dispatch the appropriate personnel via two-way radio systems.

The role requires excellent oral and written communication, fluency in English, and the ability to operate standard office equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Resident of the State of New Jersey.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• EMD Cert. or Basic Telecommunicator Cert. preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Transmit information from distressed callers to responding personnel.
• Provide accurate and timely information to officers, firefighters, EMTs and dispatch personnel.
• Assist the public entering police headquarters.
