Job summary

The East Hanover Township Police Department is seeking a full-time Police Dispatcher to serve as emergency communications professionals, ensuring timely transmission of information from distressed callers to responding personnel. You will relay data to officers, firefighters, EMTs, and coordinate responses via the two-way radio system.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Resident of the State of New Jersey.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• EMD Cert. or Basic Telecommunicator Cert. preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely information to police officers, firefighters, EMTs and dispatch the appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate incident responses via two-way radio and data systems.
• Assist the public who enter police headquarters.
• Maintain clear and concise communication under pressure.
