Job summary

Rockingham County is seeking a Telecommunicator to perform intermediate technical work on an assigned shift dispatching law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services and non-emergency calls. The role operates under moderate supervision from the Assistant Lead Telecommunicator, Lead Telecommunicator and 911 Director.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and some telecommunication experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Moderate experience as a Telecommunicator or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch, NC DCI, CPR and NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 certifications within six months of hire.
Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

Performs intermediate technical work on an assigned shift dispatching law enforcement, fire, EMS and non-emergency calls for service.
Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Assistant Lead Telecommunicator, Lead Telecommunicator and 911 Director.
