Job summary

Rockingham County Sheriff's Office in New Hampshire seeks a Dispatch Operator to manage rapid communication with 24 police and 18 fire/EMS departments across the county. The role operates a 24/7 dispatch center, logs calls accurately, and provides essential geographic and incident information to field units using the SPOTS system.

The position requires a valid driver\'s license, ability to pass a thorough background check and health/drug tests, and either a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid driver\'s license is required.
• Must pass a rigorous background investigation, occupational health assessment and drug test.
• No criminal record.
• High School graduate or GED required.
• Certification in NH SPOTS preferred.
• Familiarity with IMC public safety software is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer use and ability to adapt to new and changing technology.
• Proficiency in database queries and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to handle an array of duties at once and remain calm and focused.
• Ability to work weekend, evening and holiday shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches calls for service to 24 Police and 18 Fire/EMS Departments within Rockingham County.
• Maintain accurate, electronic logs of all calls and provide geographic/incidental information to emergency units.
• Utilize NH State Police SPOTS system for information exchange.
• Support law enforcement and emergency personnel in responding to calls for assistance.
