Job summary

The City of Webster Police Department is seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist to receive and dispatch information for Police, Fire and EMS, handling both emergency and non-emergency calls via telephone, radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, following state and agency procedures. Emergency Communications Specialists work 12-hour shifts that include weekends and holidays, with eligibility to work during major emergencies.

Must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain NCIC/TCIC certification within six months of hire.
• Must obtain TX Commission on Law Enforcement Basic Telecommunications License within one year.
• Police/Fire/EMS dispatch experience preferred.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch information for Police, Fire and EMS.
• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls via telephone, radio and CAD.
• Follow policies and procedures set by the state and/or agency.
• Work 12-hour shifts including weekends and/or holidays; respond to emergencies.
