Job summary

City of Daphne, Alabama is seeking a Police Dispatcher to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch police units, and coordinate with fire and EMS as needed. The role requires professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in high-pressure situations.

You will enter call data into CAD and NCIC/ACJIC systems, monitor information, and relay updates to officers while maintaining contact with reporting parties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus 4 months' related training/experience.
• Certification in NCIC Terminal Operator and APCO preferred.
• Experience with police dispatching and radio/phone systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch police units.
• Enter call information into CAD and NCIC/ACJIC systems with accuracy.
• Relay updated information to officers and departments to prioritize responses.
• Notify supervisor of emergencies and serious complaints.
• Monitor cameras and assist other divisions as needed.
• Serve as receptionist and switchboard operator as required.
• Attend training and meetings and perform related duties.
