Job summary
Beatrice Community Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary / Certified Nursing Assistant for the Emergency Department. The role supports nursing staff, handles patient chart documentation, and assists with scheduling and communications in a fast-paced ED setting.
The position requires a Nursing Assistant Certification in Nebraska (and a Medication Aide certification within the specified timeframe). Full-time schedule includes day-evening shifts and weekend/holiday rotation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Nursing Assistant Certification, State of Nebraska, required; Medication Aide, State of Nebraska, required within 6 months of hire or within 3 months of the effective date of this job description
Responsibilities
- Performs information processing and documentation relating to patient charts and physician orders.
- Assists nursing personnel with care of patient as directed.
- Answers internal and external telephone calls for service area and performs other clerical duties as directed.
- Performs duties related to scheduling of patients and procedures as applicable.
