Job summary

Mercy Health Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department. This role provides direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and supports efficient ED operations.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, valid BLS (preferred), and nursing student status with rotation complete or state testing done. Strong communication, patient safety, and accurate charting are essential in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Nursing student with first clinical rotation complete OR state testing complete required.
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care, comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Delivers high level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff; documents care accurately.
• Uses professional verbal and written communication with the health care team and reports to physician as needed.
