Job summary

Lexington Health in West Columbia, SC, seeks an ED Technician to provide patient care and support in the Emergency Department. The role includes order entry, supply stocking, and liaison duties among nurses, physicians, and patients.

Minimum requirements: high school diploma, 1 year of acute care patient experience, BLS, CPI training within 90 days. Flexibility for shifts and strong computer/medical terminology skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of patient care experience in an acute care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems; medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care and examinations.
• Place patients on oxygen therapy and monitor cardiac status as directed by RN.
• Act as Unit Secretary when needed: manage calls, charting, and scheduling.
• Maintain patient flow, assist with admissions and transfers as needed.
• Perform post-discharge room turnover and maintain clean, safe environment.
