Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) for the Lexington, KY ED. The role supports a 24-hour ED with a multidisciplinary team, performing patient care tasks, data entry, specimen handling, and ensuring efficient department flow under RN supervision.

Required are a High School Diploma, KY Nurse Aide Certification (or equivalent clinical coursework), and BLS within 30 days. Prior lab or customer service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or completion of first year clinical nursing coursework with validation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; obtain within 30 days if not yet certified.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy/point-of-care testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions within the multidisciplinary ED team under RN supervision.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
• Maintains knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for duties.
• Keeps work area organized to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, processes, transports and analyzes specimens per lab policies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care per hospital policies.
