Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC is seeking staff to assist nursing personnel in patient examination, treatment and care. The role includes routine patient care, clerical tasks, phlebotomy support, EKG duties, specimen handling, and hazmat readiness in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications include high school diploma or GED, NCA I or EMT training, and BLS certification. Relocation assistance may be available and a commitment bonus may apply based on experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• NCA I training or NC EMT training.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• BLS Required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians in patient care and examinations.
• Perform clerical and technical tasks as assigned.
• Assist with personal care and comfort of patients of all ages.
• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Collect and deliver routine tests and specimens.
• Escort or transport patients as needed.
• Maintain readiness of HAZMAT Room and assist hazmat decontamination.
• Perform EKG technician tasks and documentation.
• Support Health Unit Coordinator tasks (EDUC).
• Answer phones and patient call bells; manage lab specimens and orders.
