Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and active standing with NC DHHS.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
• Listed with NC DHHS Division of Health Service Regulation in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with unit/patient care under RN supervision.
• Change IV dressing and prime IV tubing as directed by RN.
• Discontinue peripheral IV infusions as directed by RN.
• Demonstrate adult urinary catheterization using sterile technique.
• Set up oxygen equipment and read flow rate correctly.
• Perform wound irrigation and dressing changes for wounds >48 hours.
• Document CNA+4 skills and report pertinent information to the licensed nurse.
