Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking an Emergency Dept Technician to support the Emergency Department. Under supervision of a Clinical Nurse, the technician performs direct patient care to assist in implementing the care plan in line with Arizona EMS regulations.

Responsibilities include collecting patient data, assisting with splints and casts, performing CPR during cardiac arrest management, assembling charts, reporting unusual findings, maintaining inventory, and assisting with blood specimen

Qualifications

• Collect and record routine patient data accurately.
• Assist in applying splints, casts and orthopedic devices; perform CPR during cardiac events.
• Assemble patient charts for new admissions and enter admission orders and demographic data.
• Identify and report unusual findings or observations to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain inventory levels of stock items, supplies and equipment.
• Obtain blood specimens by physician order or per protocol.

Responsibilities

• As directed by healthcare professionals, collect and record patient data for chart accuracy.
• Provide direct patient care assistance and support to care plans.
• Assist with orthopedic devices and CPR during emergencies.
• Assemble and update patient charts and admission records.
• Report unusual symptoms or changes to supervising staff.
• Maintain unit supplies and environmental cleanliness.
