Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System's Emergency Department seeks an Emergency Dept Technician to support patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with vital signs, EKGs, specimen handling, transport, and room readiness in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications include BLS within 90 days, PALS within 2 years, and at least 6 months in EMT/Medical Assistant roles. Strong teamwork, communication, and accurate EMR documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS within 90 days of hire and maintain status.
• PALS within 2 years of hire and maintain status.
• At least 6 months experience in EMT, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG or related healthcare field.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients under RN direction: vitals, EKG, specimens, and procedures.
• Assists with ventilation support and CPR as directed by RN.
• Performs walking rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Prepares specimens and ensures proper handoff per guidelines.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and room readiness throughout shift.
• Transports patients within hospital and documents care in EMR.
