Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking an ED Tech to assist in the clinical care of patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.

The role requires the ability to care for patients across the age spectrum and to support the care team in the fast-paced ED setting. IV Certification/AEMT strongly preferred and BLS CPR certification is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• IV Certification/AEMT strongly preferred
• BCLS/CPR certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist in clinical patient care under supervision of RN or LPN
• Provide age-appropriate care to assigned patient population

Education

Georgia EMT Certification or NREMT Intermediate

Nursing student with clinical rotations

2 years patient care tech/ER tech experience (in lieu of EMT license)

Responsibilities

The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
