The Piedmont Columbus Midtown ED Tech position supports the clinical care team by assisting with patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. It emphasizes delivering age-appropriate patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualified candidates may hold Georgia EMT or NREMT credentials, or be nursing students with clinical rotations, and must have current BLS. This role ensures reliable, compassionate support to the ED team and patients.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia BLS CPR card upon hire.
• EMT certification or NREMT registration/intermediate level certification.
• Nursing student with at least 1 semester of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital.
• In lieu of 2 years of patient care tech/ER tech experience, EMT license not required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the clinical aspects of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Provide care to the age-specific population to which assigned.

Education

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications
