Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking an ED Tech to assist in clinical patient care under the supervision of a nurse. This role supports the health care team and contributes to delivering high-quality care across age groups.

The ED Tech must hold a Georgia EMT certification (or NREMT intermediate) or be a nursing student with clinical rotations, with possible consideration for equivalent patient-care experience. This position emphasizes collaboration in a busy ED environment.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia EMT Certification or NREMT Intermediate Certification required
• Nursing student with at least 1 semester of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital required
• Two years of patient care tech or ER tech experience in lieu of EMT license may be accepted

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Provide care to the age specific population to which assigned as qualified.

Qualifications

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
