Job summary

SEARHC is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse in Alaska to provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and care in a high-acuity setting. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure accurate documentation and safe medication administration.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, adherence to Alaska BON guidelines, and the ability to respond to trauma and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP and ENPC certifications required.
• ENPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.
• Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Administers medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Delivers culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
• Advocates for patient care and assists patients in navigating the healthcare system.
