Parkwest Medical Center in West Knoxville, part of Covenant Health, is hiring an Emergency Department Patient Registration Specialist. The role handles rapid ED registration, collects demographics and payments, verifies insurance, and maintains accurate records in a 24/7 environment.

You will coordinate front desk flow, explain consent forms, and work with multiple systems (STAR, Cerner, TransUnion) to ensure MSP accuracy and smooth patient experiences.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED, bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of customer-facing experience.
• No licensure required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform quick ED registration for patient encounters.
• Coordinate front desk patient flow and notify triage/charge nurse of urgent cases.
• Complete full registration collecting demographic and financial information per EMTALA.
• Collect co-pays/deposits, issue receipts, and post cash transactions.
• Explain consent for treatment, advance directives, and Medicare forms.
• Maintain ED registration status using the tracking board.
• Verify insurance and complete insurance-related tasks for ED encounters.
• Rotate on-call/holiday schedule as needed.
• Assist with registrations for multiple clinical sites.
