Job summary

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative (Mid-Shift) for the New Northeast Emergency Department. The role involves greeting and registering patients for Emergency Care Services, collecting demographic and financial information, and ensuring accurate billing and medical record input.

Position requires long periods of standing and bedside registration. The successful candidate will handle consent documentation, ID and insurance verification, and communicate effectively

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience with personal computers; familiarity with medical terminology and billing.
• Ability to adapt to special circumstances such as patient emergencies, disasters, and staffing issues.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and verifies demographic and financial information to ensure accurate Medical Record and proper billing.
• Registers patients in the Emergency Department in the EHR with correct information.
• Interviews patients or representatives to obtain demographic/financial data at bedside; may require long periods standing.
• Obtains proper consent for adults and minors; collects signatures as required.
• Maintains professional communication with departments; attends department meetings.
