Job summary

Lexington Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the new Northeast Emergency Department in Columbia, SC. This full-time day-shift position (7:00am–7:00pm) involves greeting and registering patients, collecting demographic and financial information, and ensuring accurate billing and medical records input.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and comfort with PCs, medical terminology, and billing procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with personal computers; familiar with medical terminology and billing.
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to patient emergencies, disasters, and staffing issues.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register all patients presenting for Emergency Care Services.
• Obtain demographic and financial information for accurate billing and medical records input.
• Complete medical records with appropriate signatures and consents.
• Handle bedside registrations requiring time on feet and contact with patients.
