Job summary

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Ward Clerk/EKG Tech for the Emergency Department night shift. You will assist the RN with patient care, take vital signs, document in the HIS, and perform EKGs while handling ward clerk duties and ensuring unit cleanliness.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 6 months healthcare experience, and current BLS certification. NYS CNA is preferred; pre-employment screenings are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 6 months working experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurse with nursing care of assigned patients according to policies.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
• Document patient care and vital signs in the Hospital Information System.
• Perform EKGs.
• Provide general comfort, welfare, and safety of patients.
• Ward clerk duties including computer entry and ED log maintenance.
