Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or obtainable during probation
• Current BLS provider certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience
• Ability to lift and transport patients
• NYS CNA license or certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurse with patient care per policies and procedures
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure)
• Document patient care events in Hospital Information System
• Perform EKGs
• Maintain patient comfort, welfare, and safety on the unit
• Handle ward clerk duties as needed
• Ensure cleanliness of patient area and equipment
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and provide assistance
