Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for night shift (3, 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm–7:30am) to join the Emergency Department. This part-time, 90% FTE role includes direct patient care, room preparation, and supporting the triage process.

Your responsibilities include performing POC testing, wound care, documenting patient history and vital signs, assisting providers, and serving as a liaison with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent.
• WA State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Point-of-Care (POC) Testing, splinting, and wound care
• Assist patients to exam room and documents patient history, medications and vital signs
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Assist RN with triage process
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Transport patients within hospital departments
