Job summary

Inova Health System in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Clinical Technician to join the Emergency Department on a full-time basis with 7a-7p and 11a-11p shifts. Three 12-hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation) and a paid 6-week training period are required.

The role involves assisting direct patient care under RN supervision, performing vital signs, ADLs, and documenting care while ensuring patient safety and contributing to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
• Training: must attend a 6-week training period.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care and measurement of vital signs.
• Demonstrates competency in clinical skills and technologies per policy.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
• Documents accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the RN in a timely manner.
• Partners with RN to create a professional development plan for skills advancement.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
