Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a Clinical Technician for the emergency department night shift (7pm–7am). This full-time role requires three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and a six-week paid training period in Falls Church, VA.

You will assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform basic ADLs, monitor vital signs, and participate in phlebotomy and IV starts during training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide activities of daily living support and monitor vitals.
• Demonstrate competency in clinical skills per Inova Health System policies.
• Complete assigned patient duties within the established time frames.
• Document accurately and reinforce discharge teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the RN.
• Support professional development planning with the RN.
• Perform phlebotomy, starting IVs, and related training tasks.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician to join the teamin our Emergency Department. This role will be full time, night shift (7pm-7am). Three 12-hour shifts per week. Days vary each 6-week schedule period. Candidates must be available to work any day of the week when scheduled. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6 week training period, attending an initial Monday-Friday training schedule.

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g. bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
• Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
• Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care.
• Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV’s, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Shift:Nights (7pm-7am)
Schedule:Three12-hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation)
Training:Candidate must be able to attend a 6-week training period, including virtual training sessions, classroom training days in Falls Church, VA (8:00am-4:30pm), and shifts on their unit.

Clinical Technician Minimum Requirements:

• Experience:Healthcare experience preferred.
• Education:High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification:BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association).
• Training:Candidate must be able to attend a 6week training

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical Technicianexperience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
