Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a Clinical Technician for the emergency department night shift (7pm–7am). This full-time role requires three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and a six-week paid training period in Falls Church, VA.

You will assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform basic ADLs, monitor vital signs, and participate in phlebotomy and IV starts during training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Provide activities of daily living support and monitor vitals.
• Demonstrate competency in clinical skills per Inova Health System policies.
• Complete assigned patient duties within the established time frames.
• Document accurately and reinforce discharge teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the RN.
• Support professional development planning with the RN.
• Perform phlebotomy, starting IVs, and related training tasks.
