Job summary

UCHealth (Colorado) is seeking an ED - Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) in Loveland, Colorado. The Charge Nurse will provide nursing leadership for a busy Level I trauma center ED at Medical Center of the Rockies, overseeing shift staffing, patient flow, and clinical care.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license with a Bachelor's in Nursing and relevant certifications (ACLS, TNCC, ATCN, ENPC, PALS) plus minimum 1 year nursing experience.

Qualifications

• RN with valid state license; Bachelor's in Nursing within 3 years.
• ACLS, TNCC, ATCN, ENPC, PALS certifications required.
• 1 year nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and mentors staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, census, and patient acuity.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
• Takes patient assignments to meet staffing needs when required.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes and escalates issues as needed.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers.
