Job summary

The University of Kentucky’s Chandler Emergency Department is seeking an ED Access Associate to provide essential clerical support, maintain patient records, and facilitate communication among patients, nursing staff, and providers.

Shifts are 7a or 7p, three 12-hour shifts per week including weekends and holidays. HS education required; two years of college preferred. Prior healthcare clerical experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare or clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize patient charts and records accurately.
• Answer call lights and promptly notify nursing staff of patient needs.
• Contact outside hospitals and facilities to obtain medical records and relay critical information.
• Communicate effectively with the Charge Nurse and Team Leader to support timely notifications to medical teams.
• Assist in clerical functions to support patient care and departmental operations.
