Qualifications

• EMT license preferred.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire and in good standing preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to relate cooperatively with clients and co-workers.
• Ability to be flexible and handle reprioritization of patient needs frequently throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients under RN direction, including vitals, collecting & delivering specimens, performing EKG, and assisting in medical procedures.
• Assists with ventilation, performing CPR, communicating with arriving cases, setting up all monitors, and checklist completion.
• Conducts walking rounds with RN or LPN to ensure proper bedside handoff and continuity of patient care.
• Prepares for all specimen handling within hospital guidelines and policy. Ensures proper handoff per emergency guidelines and delivery of specimens.
• Checks and assembles supplies, linens and equipment for assigned areas, to promote an efficient and safe environment of care.
• Collaboratively works with RN and LPN to prioritize patient care needs throughout the entire shift.
