Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Charles Hospital is seeking an experienced Lead RN/Charge Nurse to coordinate patient care on a designated unit during night shift.

In collaboration with the Clinical Manager, you will apply nursing process, guide staff, ensure safety, quality, and efficient use of resources, and promote exceptional patient experiences. Ideal candidates hold a BSN, RN license, and relevant certifications; require 2 years nursing with 1 year in acute care; strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; evidence-based nursing practice expected.
• Current RN license in state of practice or compact.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire.
• Certifications per unit (PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NB Certification) may be required.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with 1 year in the acuity level of desired area.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts schedules and patient assignments based on acuity.
• Guides staff and oversees unit in the absence of the leader.
• Maintains infection control standards and patient safety.
• Communicates care plans with patients and families.
• Mentors staff and fosters teamwork.
• Participates in quality monitoring and performance improvement.
