Endeavor Health’s Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL invites experienced nurses to join the Transition to Practice program in the Emergency Department on the night shift. This full-time role (36 hours/week) provides education, clinical support, and structured learning to build confidence and expand ED skills while caring for patients during nights.

Requirements include IL licensure, ADN or higher (BSN within five years if ADN), BLS, and CPR; ACLS, PALS, NIHSS may be added within three months.

Qualifications

• Current IL nursing license is required.
• ADN or higher in Nursing; if ADN only, must obtain BSN within five years of start date.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, NIHSS may be completed during Transition Program and required within three months of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care per Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patients, recognize changes in condition, and prioritize care using critical thinking.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and observations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and delegate tasks as appropriate.
