Job summary

Endeavor Health is offering a Transition to Practice program for Registered Nurses in the Emergency Department, with night shifts at Elmhurst Hospital, IL, or Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL. The program provides education, clinical support, and structured learning to grow in ED nursing.

We seek nurses with acute care experience who want to strengthen ED skills and build confidence in a dynamic hospital setting, while contributing to safe, high-quality patient care nightly.

Qualifications

• Active IL nursing license is required.
• ADN or higher; if ADN, BSN must be completed within five years of start date.
• Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS/PALS NIHSS certifications encouraged within three months.
• Minimum one year of acute care nursing; ED exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care per Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Use critical thinking to assess patients, detect condition changes, and prioritize care.
• Develop and evaluate individualized plans of care for patients.
• Monitor progress and document assessments, interventions, and observations.
• Respond to changing patient needs in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
