Job summary

Endeavor Health's Nurse Transition to Practice program at Edward Hospital in Naperville supports nurses transitioning into the Emergency Department. The role is a night shift, 36 hours weekly, with classroom education during day shifts and ED nursing care at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL.

Licensure, ADN/BSN degree requirements, and mandatory certifications are outlined; one year of acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required.
• Associate degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, must graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of start date.
• CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications to be completed within three months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care per Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patients, recognize changes, prioritize care using clinical judgment.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care; document assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
