McLaren Health Care is seeking an Emergency Department support professional to assist nursing and medical staff with patient care and clerical duties in a busy ED setting. The role involves direct patient care, specimen transport, and room prep to ensure smooth department operation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, six months of patient care experience or related military medic training, and current BLS.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months patient care experience in a health care delivery setting OR completion of the US Armed Services medic program.
• Certification as an EMT, paramedic, medical assistant (MA), or CNA OR currently enrolled Nursing student who has completed their first Med/Surg rotation.
• BLS certification.

Aufgaben

• Provides direct and indirect patient care, assisting nursing and physician staff with patient care procedures.
• Inventories and restocks emergency department equipment.
• Collects and transports specimens such as urine, blood, and cultures.
• Assists with the admission and discharge of patients, initiates and discontinues intravenous lines, cleans and prepares examination room between patients.
• Places patients on monitors, provides wound care, assists with orthopedic procedures and other emergency room procedures as requested.
• Reports and records observations in the patient medical record.
• Reports patient care needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
