McLaren Health Care in Grand Ledge seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support nursing staff in delivering patient care. Under RN supervision, you will respond to emergencies, perform routine tasks, document data, and help with procedures and transports.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Acute care nursing assistant, EMT, medical training, or clinical rotation required.
• Recent patient care experience in acute care setting is preferred.
• Completion of listed programs or military medical training is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care and supports nursing staff.
• Collects, records, and reports vital signs and data to the RN.
• Performs Foley catheterization and uses bladder scanner as directed.
• Sets up and assists with orthopedic splints, immobilizers, and slings.
• Performs electrocardiograms and monitors cardiac activity as needed.
• Stocks patient rooms and supports department operations.
• Assists in emergency procedures and prepares equipment for trauma care.
• Transports patients for testing and to inpatient units.
• Responds to EMS calls and documents reports for patient placement.
• Precepts new staff and ensures shift readiness.
