Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician - Level 1 to support patient care under supervision of the Director of Emergency Services and the Shift Manager. You will perform direct patient care tasks including vital signs, 12-lead EKGs, specimen collection, aid activities of daily living, wound care, and assist with exams and procedures, while also handling transport and room readiness.

Qualifications

High School diploma preferred.
One year of direct patient caregiving experience preferred.
PCA/CNA certification preferred; BLS required.
Missouri driver license within 90 days of hire; CEVO training within 90 days; Mandt training completed.

Responsibilities

Performs direct patient care activities to improve outcomes and patient safety.
Measures vital signs, performs 12-lead EKGs, collects specimens, and assists with daily living activities.
Assists with exams, procedures, wound care, and monitoring; may apply/remove backboard, cervical collar, and KED.
Transports patients, stocks rooms, answers call lights, and supports department operations.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff; adheres to infection prevention and safety standards.
