Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician - Level 1 to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision. You will monitor vital signs, perform 12-lead EKGs, collect specimens, and assist with exams and procedures while ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

The role requires teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to infection control and safety standards in a dynamic ED setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience in direct patient caregiving roles preferred.
• Certification as PCA/CNA preferred. AHA Basic Life Support required. Missouri Class E license within 90 days. CEVO and Mandt training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities to support patient safety and care.
• Performs vital signs, 12-lead EKGs, specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Assists with exams, procedures, and patient flow; leads as ED Lead Tech when needed.
• Documents information into the patient’s medical record accurately and timely.
