Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join our fast-paced ED team in Stamford, CT. The role supports physicians, PAs and RNs, delivering direct patient care on rotating shifts and contributing to patient flow and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and appropriate certification (MA, EMT-B or CNA). You will work collaboratively in a patient-centered environment aligned with Stamford Health values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Diploma from accredited Medical Assistant program; national certification required on hire.
• EMT-B certification required on hire; or CNA certification with 2+ years ED technician experience; or third/fourth-year nursing student.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under supervision of physician, PA, or RN.
• Assist in examinations, prepare lab specimens, perform lab tests, draw blood, and prepare patients for imaging.
• Maintain patient flow and safety, document care in EMR, and support performance improvement activities.
• Assist in training new staff and volunteers; participate in code teams and risk management.
