Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to provide clinical patient care support under the guidance of an RN. The role includes vitals, phlebotomy, EKG, and patient transport as part of a fast-paced ED team.

Key tasks include clerical duties, admitting and discharging patients in multiple systems, and assisting with procedures, wound care, and data entry to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as CNA/CMA/EMT preferred; BLS required.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and EKG under RN direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care support under RN supervision.
• Perform clerical duties, admissions/discharges in hospital systems.
• Assist with wound care, transport supplies and specimens, and basic trauma care.
• Transcribe orders and assist with procedure setups; ensure proper documentation.
