Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join a fast-paced, high-energy team in Kalamazoo. You will assist with patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing, supporting trauma activations and emergency response as part of Southwest Michigan’s only Level I Trauma Center.

The role offers Full-Time/Part-Time/PRN options with Night Shift hours, orientation, and opportunities for tuition assistance and professional development.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required by end of orientation
• Preferred CNA certification
• Minimum EMS, military corpsman, hospital-based or similar patient care experience
• Nursing student in good standing
• Basic medical terminology knowledge
• EMT program completion and RMA/CMA certification are a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and providers with patient care and department operations
• Record vital signs and patient information accurately
• Perform phlebotomy on various ages
• Conduct 12-lead EKGs and assist with monitoring
• Perform point-of-care testing
• Assist with trauma activations and emergency responses
• Transport patients and support mobility as needed
• Document care activities in the EMR
