Job summary

Corewell Health's Butterworth Hospital Emergency Department in Grand Rapids is a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma center that delivers patient care with a strong team approach. The role supports nursing staff in a high-volume setting, including vital signs, wound care, and safety activities, while documentation is completed accurately and timely.

This part-time position requires night shifts, with 24 hours per week and every-other-weekend scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 Days of Hire Required
• >1 Year of Emergency, EMT, or Patient Care experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
• Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
• Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
• Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
