Job summary

Island Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support patient care in Anacortes, WA. This onsite, night-shift role combines NA-C/EMT duties with health unit coordination to assist nurses and physicians in delivering high-quality care.

The position requires active NA-C or WA EMT certification, current BLS, and 1 year of ED or ambulance experience preferred. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NA-C course or EMT Basic level education.
• Current NA-C or WA State EMT Certification and active DOH registration.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assist with procedures, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Assist with patient transport, filings, and charting in EMR.
• Support nursing staff and physicians to deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain supplies and ensure clean, organized patient areas.
• Coordinate with registration and communication teams to ensure smooth flow of care.
• Transports specimens to lab and directs patients/visitors as needed.
