Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our Emergency Department teams at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. This role supports nurses and providers, aids with patient care, and helps ensure safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Location-based, cross-trained at both campuses with shifts assigned per departmental needs; the schedule is 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• CNA or EMT license required.
• Experience in acute-care, emergency, or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic care and emotional support.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Greet patients and visitors; answer and route calls.
• Perform delegated technical procedures (ECGs, splinting, specimen collection).
• Maintain stocked, clean and orderly units and patient rooms.
