Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital’s Emergency Department is hiring a Full Time Nights ED Technician (7P-7A). The role assists clinicians in implementing care plans for emergency patients and performs procedures under supervision.

Overview:

The Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital Emergency Department is hiring a Full Time Nights ED Technician 7P-7A

The Emergency Department Technician assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.

Certification/Licensure BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.

New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education

1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.
4. Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
