Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA, is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for day shift on a per diem/part-time basis.

The ED Tech works alongside nurses to assist with routine patient care, performs technical tasks, reports findings, and helps ensure patient safety. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CNA experience or EMT-Basic, and current BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months).

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• One year experience as a CNA in acute care OR EMT-Basic on an ambulance crew OR one year experience as a Patient Care Technician preferred.
• Current BLS certification from an ILCOR-approved provider with hands-on manikin skills check; obtain within 3 months if not certified at start.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with routine bedside care and skilled technical tasks.
• Report any unusual findings or incidents and maintain patient safety.
• Ensure compliance with hospital standards and procedures while caring for assigned patients.
