Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking an ED Technician to support the nursing staff with routine bedside care and specialized technical tasks. You will report unusual findings and help maintain patient safety for a designated group of patients in the ED.

Qualified candidates typically have CNA, EMT-Basic, or PCT experience, with current BLS certification. A high school diploma or GED is required, and the role involves working 7am-7pm with a TBD weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as CNA in acute care OR EMT-Basic on ambulance OR Patient Care Technician experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification from ILCOR-approved provider with hands-on manikin skills check.
• If not certified at hire, obtain BLS certification within 3 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with routine patient care.
• Perform specialized technical skills as directed.
• Report unusual incidents or findings promptly.
• Maintain patient safety at all times in assigned group of patients.
