Backus Hospital in Plainfield operates its Emergency Department with a dedicated, collaborative team. The RN works under the Nurse Manager to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a busy 12-bed unit, utilizing the nursing process to meet diverse patient needs.

The role requires critical care RN experience, BLS, and certifications (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CPI) within 90 days, plus licenses to practice in Connecticut. Night shifts, support staff, and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year critical care RN experience required.
• BLS required. Ability to obtain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide patient-centered care under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Apply nursing process to develop a plan of care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural and educational needs.
• Work with interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
