Job summary

Backus Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department in Plainfield. You will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager within a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care to a diverse patient population.

The role requires critical care experience, current Connecticut RN license, and commitment to achieving required certifications within defined timelines. A sign-on bonus is eligible, and Hartford HealthCare benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year critical care RN experience required.
• BLS required. Ability to obtain and maintain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practices to develop a plan of care for patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Meet physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural and educational needs of patients and families.
