Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and communicate changes in patient condition to physicians.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ALS, PALS/ENPC certifications, and prefers a BSN. The position is full-time nights with rotating weekends and holidays; compensation includes a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
• Direct and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, adhering to EMTALA regulations and privacy requirements.
